Shannon & Briar
I recently had the chance to photograph my friend Shannon, and it ended up being one of those sessions that reminded me why I love documenting motherhood so much.
There’s something really special about photographing a friend in this kind of season. It’s more personal, more relaxed, and you already know the connection you’re capturing is real. Shannon with Briar was exactly that— full of love.
Briar is still so little, and at that sweet age where the way she looks at her mom and settles into her says everything.
That’s how I prefer to photograph — not perfect poses or big setups, just documenting what life looks like right now. Motherhood changes so quickly, and having photos to look back on—especially from seasons like this—means a lot more as time goes on.
Shannon’s been a friend of mine and a client for a while, and I always love photographing her. All the way down to “what do you want us to wear?” —she’s always open to my ideas and trusts my vision. Together we’ve always made magic.
If you’ve been around a while, you may have seen Shannon’s maternity from back in October - a stunning and dramatic Autumn session in Gettysburg.
